Make a Bootable Pendrive of Windows7 and Windows8 With CMD

Bootable pen drive means we can install Operating System from Pen drive instead of Live Bootable OS DVD.

Installing OS from Pen drive is much faster than installing OS from DVD.

Requirements:

1.       Minimum 4GB of Pen Drive

2.      Windows 7/Windows 8 DVD (x86 or x64) or .iso or any Image file. (If you are using .iso or any image file of Windows 7/Windows 8 then you must have the software to run that image file. Following Steps and commands are used to make pen drive bootable

1.       Run CMD As Administrator(Most Impotent)

    

 2.  Type Command DISKPART

3.   Type List Disk (This shows all the external and internal Disk drive connected to PC including Pendrive  eg.Disk 0, Disk 1, Disk 2)

4.      Type Select Disk 0 (Select your pen drive disk from List Disk here I assuming that the pen drive Disk  Disk 0)

5.       Type Clean

6.       Type Create Partition Primary

7.       Type Select Partition 1

8.       Type ACTIVE

9.        Type Format Fs=NTFS Quick

10.   Type ASSING

11.   Type Exit and close currant CMD window

12.    Open new CMD window

13.    Go to the Directory where Windows 7 DVD is Mounted.(Name of Drive Where DVD is running) By following commands.

14.       Type H: and hit enter. (Here I assume that DVD is mounted on Drive H :)

15.       Type cd BOOT and hit enter (Go to boot directory in the DVD)

16.       Type BOOTSECT.EXT /NT60 J: and hit enter It gives message as follows 

It means that your Pen Drive is updated with BOOTMGR compatible boot code i.e. it is now bootable

1.       Now copy all the content of Windows 7 DVD to the Pen Drive directly.

2.       Now your Pen Drive is ready to Use.
